This practical session focuses on how boards can operate effectively, develop meaningful strategy, and manage risk in a proportionate, informed way.

Find a Funder Workshop
14 July 2026 - 10:00am to 12:00pm
Find a Funder is a simple and easy to use funding search website provided by Middlesbrough Council in partnership with MVDA. Workshop sessions demonstrate how the Find a Funder website works and how the get the best out of it. Sharon Barker from Middlesbrough Council and John Atkinson from MVDA will run one or two live searches using ideas the groups represented in the room and their current search for funds. In the second part of the session, Sharon and John will provide advice on how to make more successful funding applications, and how to avoid common mistakes.
