The way Middlesbrough Council co-ordinates and funds key local support services is changing. From September 2020, a new model of provision around homelessness, domestic abuse, sexual violence, substance misuse and welfare rights will be introduced. This will see an in-house service delivered by the Council through a Core Team with a focus on early intervention and engagement, understanding the needs of individuals and client co-ordination. I

The five Clinical Commissioning Groups (CCGs) across the County Durham and Tees Valley areas have confirmed their plans to merge into two closely linked CCGs. The announcement follows approval from NHS England and NHS Improvement, and sits within the framework outlined in the NHS Long Term Plan.
With effect from 1 April 2020 the two newly created CCGS will be:

In 2013, 11 East Cleveland Communities were successfully awarded £1 million over a 10 year period to provide and improve opportunities in the 11 communities, protect our heritage and improve facilities within the area.
