MVDA supports campaign to ditch degree requirement

Today MVDA has signed up to support a campaign which encourages all charities to look at their job descriptions, person specifications and recruitment adverts and check whether they really need to require a ‘degree or equivalent’ for some of their roles.

The 'Open to All' campaign led by Children England believes the voluntary sector should be as open and accessible as possible to people with the passion and skill to contribute – whether they can afford to do a degree or not.

Mark Davis, Chief Executive of MVDA said on signing up to the pledge:

"We are committed to supporting individuals in their roles at MVDA and their long-term career progression through the provision of development opportunities and training. We don't routinely include the requirement to have a degree, or qualifications more generally,  unless it’s a specialist role.  We recognise that experience and skills achieved through volunteering and other employment can be just as valid and important as degree level qualifications."

Sign the pledge to be open for all for your organisation.
