We are here to support, promote and develop voluntary and community action in Middlesbrough

Middlesbrough Voices event sees people share experiences of living here

Middlesbrough Voices, an innovative community event, witnessed a gathering of over 90 participants at the Tees Valley Chinese Community Centre. The event, organised by LocalMotion Middlesbrough, provided a unique platform for residents to share their experiences of living in the town and brainstorm ideas to foster positive change within the community.

The day was filled with creative workshops led by local artists, small group discussions and inspirational talks from Rachel Teate, BBC Radio Tees and Amanda Buck from Breckon Hill Community Centre.

Creative workshops explored the theme of living in Middlesbrough through various mediums—from writing poetry, making paper bunting, and building an ideal version of the town to puzzle making. Small group discussions encouraged participants to share their stories and experiences and discuss possible solutions.

LocalMotion gave attendees the opportunity to express interest in continuing conversations beyond the event in order to create more opportunities for people to come together and act on generated ideas. If you missed the event but would like to get involved in future meet-ups, please get in touch.
