We are here to support, promote and develop voluntary and community action in Middlesbrough

Celebrating Community: TM&C Reflects on the Past, Present & Future

On 1 December, Together Middlesbrough & Cleveland (TM&C) brought local churches, partners, volunteers, and community members together for a special Celebration Event, marking over a decade of shared commitment to supporting people across South Tees. We were pleased to support the planning and delivery of the event.

Together Middlesbrough and Cleveland (TM&C) began in 2012, born from the deep concern of local churches for the wellbeing of the communities they serve. From the start, the organisation recognised the challenges facing many individuals and families across South Tees, but also the incredible strengths, compassion and resilience within local neighbourhoods. Over the years, TM&C’s work has continued to evolve, shaped not only by churches but by the insight and dedication of faith groups, community organisations, volunteers and residents from this local area.

The day included a warm welcome, time to reflect, and an inspiring film highlighting TM&C’s work. Presentations explored TM&C’s past and present, shone a light on the their volunteer, groups and Champions, and reminded everyone of the impact that local action can have.

A lively “Did You Know?” quiz added fun and energy to the morning before guests enjoyed lunch, networking, and a chance to share thoughts on the message board.

The afternoon focused firmly on the future, with a collaborative “Looking Ahead” activity inviting everyone to contribute ideas, hopes, and priorities for the next chapter of TM&C’s work.

The event closed with a sense of optimism and shared purpose. It was a powerful reminder that TM&C is, at its heart, a community movement rooted in compassion, strengthened by partnership, and shaped by the voices of the people it serves.

Together, we look forward to building on this foundation to continue supporting and celebrating the communities of South Tees.
