We are here to support, promote and develop voluntary and community action in Middlesbrough

Ecominds project to improve mental health

The Ecominds project is looking for people from Middlesbrough wanting to improve their mental health and wellbeing.

The Ecominds project is available to men and women, aged 30-50. It works with staff and volunteers at Preston Park Walled Garden who provide a welcoming, quiet and non-judgmental space. The project aims are to improve your mental health and well-being through gardening and other activities. They will also support you to make social connections in the wider community.

No gardening experience is needed and you can take part in activities such as planting, plant care and maintenance, harvesting, composting and wildlife conservation. You'll also be encouraged to feel part of the community (During and beyond the 6-8 week programme), and there will be opportunities to engage in volunteering - either at the gardens or at other projects in the area.
