On behalf of the Middlesbrough Carers Strategic Partnership, MVDA expects to publish a new funding opportunity imminently to support working carers. It is anticipated that the funding will be in the form of one grant award of up to £50,000 over a 12-month period to one or more voluntary organisations working together to support carers in any firm, company or organisation in Middlesbrough.
The successful organisation(s) will deliver a programme of interventions to support working carers. Specifically, it is anticipated the funding will be used to:
· Raise the profile of working carers
· Support businesses
· Keep people in work and provide advocacy in the workplace
· Have a focus also on transition and young people.
It is anticipated that the grant prospectus will be launched on or before 2 December on MVDA’s website with an expected deadline for completed bids to be submitted on 6 January. This news page will be updated when the prospectus has been launched.
The Joint Commissioning Group (JCG) of the Carers Strategic Partnership consists of officers from Middlesbrough Council, MVDA and NHS South Tees CCG who have developed the grant prospectus following the identification of working carers as a priority through the Carers Strategic Partnership. We are publishing the above information with the sole intention of providing advance information to potential interested parties, though the final details in terms of timescales have not yet been finalised.
