Welfare Rights Support Worker
18 hours per week
Salary £10,244 per annum
(£21,058 pro-rata)
Carers Together Foundation is an organisation dedicated to improving carers’ quality of life. We listen to carers, give them a voice, provide information, practical and emotional support and promote carers’ rights across the South Tees area.
We are seeking a Welfare Rights Support Worker to provide individual support to Carers and the people they care for to complete benefit forms, with the aim of maximising the income for Carers and their families. The postholder will ensure that all referrals are dealt with promptly, ensuring that the clients receive their full entitlement to benefits as soon as possible and monitoring the outcome of claims.
To succeed in this role, applicants will require:
- Experience of dealing with sensitive issues and of providing information and support to vulnerable individuals and groups.
- Experience of completing benefit forms efficiently and accurately with service users
- An understanding of the issues affecting carers
This role is based between our offices in the TAD Centre, Middlesbrough and Kirkleatham Business Park in Redcar and the postholder must be able to travel between the two sites, and to other locations in the community including the homes of clients.
