The well established Youth Project provides support and delivers outreach activites across the region for children and young people impacted by the imprisonment of a parent or loved one.
In light of the recent impact to face-to-face youth services brought about through Covid-19 we are seeking to recruit an experienced and highly motivated individual with a passion for making a positive difference to the lives of young people, to deliver on-line and virtual activities in both 1:1 and group-based settings.
The Virtual Youth Support Worker is a newly created post funded through the Youth Endowment Fund (YEF) and commissioned by the Home Office to support vulnerable young peopleat risk of youth violence, particularly those aged 10-14 years.
The successful candidate should possess the ability to establish genuine and support relationships with children through virtual/online platforms and be able to quickly develop effective partnerships with schools, youth groups, social services and wider family and parent services across the north-east region to ensure there is an ongoing on-line support available for young people who are adversely affected by the imprisonment of a parent or close relative.
This contract is initially on a fixed term basis to 31st July 2021 and is subjected to a DBS Enhanced Disclosure and satisfactory references.
