Nepacs is a regional charity which supports positive futures for prisoners and their families.
Nepacs’ ‘Parenting from prison: prisoner’s rights’ project will form the next stage of development for our regional family engagement services and aims to create a resource which can be used nationally.
We are seeking to recruit a Co-ordinator to lead this exciting new project. The new post-holder will be responsible for training and supporting staff and volunteers across the region to assist prisoners and family members on issues around child contact, fostering and adoption, parental rights, and rights for kinship carers. They will work in partnership with Ben Hoare Bell solicitors to develop legal rights workshops in prison, develop a ‘Frequently asked questions’ resource, co-produce training materials, and will also hold a small case load.
The successful applicant will have excellent communication and interpersonal skills; experience of working with families and disadvantaged groups; experience in delivery of one to one and group work sessions, a relevant qualification in social care, law or equivalent and a passion for making a difference.
