Youth Focus: North East are recruiting for a Lead Sessional Youth Worker
Hours: 7 hrs/week, Wednesdays, day and evening
The lead sessional worker will be working at our pop n drop sessions in the Park End area of Middlesbrough. Pop n Drop is a model we use at Youth Focus North East - we set up this model due to finding that not all young people want to attend a youth centre but still require support and guidance around challenges they are facing. We pop up with gazebos and activities using local sports courts and green spaces to deliver our sessions the whole year round.
As a lead worker you will be expected to plan, prepare and lead on delivery of a weekly evening session. Sessions must include a range of activities for all young people to engage with, and opportunities to raise aspirations and create new opportunities for them to be involved with.
The lead worker will be expected to:
- Support all sessional workers who deliver on the session.
- Support young people to get involved in opportunities.
- Ensure the effective delivery of agreed targets and outcomes.
- Ensure that all activities organised within the programme are properly managed and carried out within legislation and policies relevant to the job role, including equality, safeguarding, health and safety, data protection and financial probity.
- Undertake recording, monitoring and evaluation tasks and prepare reports to meet funder requirements and to respond to and report any Safeguarding concerns to the Youth Manager ensuring compliance with Youth Focus North East Safeguarding Policy and Procedures.
Due to the nature of the project, it is essential to hold a valid UK driving licence to get to and from the place our sessions are held.
We are looking for a Youth Worker who is passionate about making a positive difference in the lives of young people and the communities we serve, someone who can engage with young people, and develop positive relationships with external partners.
Youth Focus North East has a strong learning culture and offers a work environment which is stimulating, fast moving and supportive; giving you the chance to use your knowledge and skills, and enhance your practice within a high profile organisation.
