We are seeking an experienced HR Manager to head up our Human Resources Team. Reporting to the Chief Executive / Deputy Chief Executive you will be responsible for devising and implementing the strategic goals of the HR Team, providing generalist support and guidance to employees, managers and stakeholders and leading on all employee relations cases.
As a member of the Senior Management Team, you will contribute to the operational delivery of the charity’s strategic objectives, proactively identifying any potential risks and issues and working in collaboration with the leadership team to support the development of a high-performing workplace culture.
The HR Manager will be responsible for the operational delivery of all HR activities related to the employee and volunteer life cycle across the organisation and will have management responsibility for the HR Coordinator and Volunteer Programme Coordinator.
About You
Candidates should be experienced HR practitioners, qualified to CIPD level 5 or above, with an in-depth knowledge of employment law and a track-record of providing reliable and timely support to managers regarding complex HR issues. The ideal candidate will be pragmatic, self-motivated, capable of acting autonomously, have an outcomes focused approach to work and possess excellent written and verbal communication skills. They should be accountable for their actions and able to provide assurance to the SMT and the Board of Trustees on achievements against objectives.
You should be prepared to spend the majority of your time in the office in Middlesbrough, getting to know the staff, the leadership team, the hospice structure, attending meetings and managing your team. Some homeworking may be considered and can be discussed at interview.
You will need to be able to drive and have regular access to a vehicle as we have 12 charity shops across the Teesside area as well as an Income Generation office in a different location in Middlesbrough and it is important that you are able to visit these locations as required, sometimes at short notice.
