Are you interested in reducing reoffending? Are you working with children and families in the community? Does your work include improving outcomes for children or families?
Hidden Sentence awareness sessions are for any employees or volunteers whose work brings them into contact with families of prisoners, including health professionals, probation/CRC staff, school staff, child care providers, social workers, youth workers, play workers, local authority staff or community/voluntary workers.
This 2.5 hours training session will give you an awareness of the offender's journey, its impact on the family from arrest to release, and some resources to help you support them in your work.
We are currently offering spaces on two virtual Hidden Sentence awareness sessions, lasting 2.5 hours via Zoom. The dates are:
- 27 April 2022 - 1pm - 3.30pm
- 9 June 2022 - 9.30am-12noon
LEARNING OUTCOMES:
- Understand the impact of imprisonment on prisoners’ families
- Understand the support needs of prisoners’ families
- Understand the needs and wishes of prisoners’ families
- Increased awareness of the range of resources available for teaching and non-teaching staff working with children and families of prisoners.
