As a society we face many challenges, from everyday pressures which make our daily lives harder, to extraordinary events which cause huge damage, disruption, and loss. The Covid-19 pandemic showed us that as a society we work better together, helping each other to cope with, overcome, and recover from traumatic events. We are a community.
As we look towards the future, we want to try and capture the best of our communities to help everyone across Cleveland cope with and overcome whatever life throws at us.
We want to know:
- What is it about our communities now which helps us overcome challenges by working together and what holds us back?
- In building on what makes our communities strong now, what would a Resilient Cleveland look like in 2030?
- What actions do we need to take to help us to get there?
This workshop aims to challenge us, regardless of role or community, to think about how we can work together to make our communities stronger and better connected. We are asking you to share your knowledge and ideas on how we can build a more Resilient Cleveland.
It doesn’t matter if you are a community leader, action group, faith leader, emergency service, local authority, politician, or someone who is just interested in building stronger and healthier communities…or a combination of many roles - be part of the conversation, have your voice heard and make an impact.
What is the workshop trying to achieve?
To start a conversation about how we can make Cleveland more resilient and better able to cope with different challenges
What are we going to do?
- Start a conversation between different people and organisations on what a Resilient Cleveland looks like
- Bring together a broader range of communities and services to identify areas of need and shared interest
- Identify how we can take tangible action, and what support is required, to start building a Resilient Cleveland
