Middlesbrough 1st is a registered charity that supports adults with learning disabilities and we are looking to expand our board of trustees. Whether you’re an experienced trustee or wanting to take your first step on to a board of trustees, we would love to hear from you.

The roles are unpaid voluntary positions but reasonable expenses are paid.  Board members are expected to attend a board meeting every other month. The meetings are usually held on a Monday evening from 5:30 – 7:00pm at Breckon Hill Community Centre in Middlesbrough. Board members are also expected to participate in the life of the charity between board meetings, advising the staff member and acting as an ambassador for Middlesbrough 1st.

We are particularly looking for individuals with skills in one or more of the following areas:

  • Marketing/Promotion
  • Fundraising
  • Finance
  • Lived experience of Learning Disabilities
  • Digital

If you would like further information about the role, please come along to our information session and meet some of our existing board members. There will be some yummy refreshments! Information session will be held at 5:30pm on Monday 14th March 2022 at Breckon Hill Community Centre, Breckon Hill Road, Middlesbrough, TS4 2DR.

If you are unable to make it to the information session but would like to discuss your interest in becoming a trustee, please contact Shelly Christon, Project Officer on 07483 346594 or email middlesbroughfirst@gmail.com
