Healthwatch South Tees has taken the decision to extend the closing date to Friday 12 February for its current live survey – GP’s, Treatments and Wellbeing. Whilst it has already received 282 responses, the majority of these have been from Redcar and Cleveland and are not representative of our local diverse communities. As a result of this we are carrying out conversations with our Community Champions and local relevant key stakeholders to explore ways of encouraging dissemination and completion from a wider range of ‘seldom heard’ groups. In addition to this we are planning a number of virtual consultation sessions with hard of hearing groups and will share these details once confirmed.
Healthwatch South Tees is asking for your help by promoting this opportunity on your websites, social media, directly with the people you support, ebulletins/newsletters, colleagues and contacts. The more responses it receives from BAME, faith, LGBT, women’s support, older people’s groups and disability groups, the richer the intelligence it will have to inform its final report including recommendations, which will better reflect the needs of local people. In our final report Healthwatch South Tees wants to report on the experiences from a variety of ‘seldom heard’ groups separately, which in turn, will provide you with the qualitative evidence to inform the direction of your work and identify priorities.
