Community Promotion of Every Life Matters across Tees Valley

Project aim: Community promotion across Tees of positive mental health and wellbeing and awareness of key support available.  Support could include, but not limited to; Samaritans, GP, Mental Health Trust (TEWV) helpline, Papyrus (children and young people) and North East and North Cumbria Suicide prevention network website http://www.stopsuicidenenc.org/

Project outline: to create short “episodes” between 1 min – 4 mins long of social media (Facebook, You tube, Tik Tok) material that will also be downloadable from a central hub and free to access by partners. All content must meet the accessibility requirements for public sector websites and apps https://www.gov.uk/guidance/accessibility-requirements-for-public-sector-websites-and-apps

 To use a small proportion of the budget for distribution costs.

The project will be Voluntary Community Sector (VCS) led, working with partners such as; health champions, colleges etc. and to include at least one VCS from each of the four tees LA areas.  The main aim is to create visual cues to promote the Every Life Matters key messages of looking after your wellbeing and that of others which are;

  • Connect with people
  • Share your stories
  • Help others
  • Stay healthy
  • Keep your mind active
  • Make plans (but be realistic about what you can achieve
  • Physical environment
  • Routine

*please note each episode does not need to include all the 5 ways to wellbeing but can target one or two depending on length.

To liaise with Suicide Prevention coordinator on plans for each episode, specifically agreeing the most suitable VCS partner for each episode.  At least 50% of episodes to target males (please see attached info on marketing to males). Where appropriate grass roots projects to be promoted and used as examples of promoting 5 ways to wellbeing.

Each episode to include three main service numbers, Tees suicide prevention logo and http://www.stopsuicidenenc.org and live links.  

To be completed within 4 – 6 weeks of project commencement.
