After the success of the Council's first-ever Civic Community Awards in 2019, nominations for this year's awards open on Monday 27 January 2020.
We're looking for individuals, community organisations, and businesses who have made a real difference to life in Middlesbrough.
This might include:
- helping out neighbours in need
- coaching a local sports team
- volunteering at youth or community groups
- organising or funding local activities and community events
- helping in schools, libraries, and hubs
- running or funding cultural and social events
Last year over 100 nominations were made, celebrating the extraordinary people, communities, and businesses whose tireless support for friends, neighbours, and the town makes Middlesbrough such a great place to live.
The award categories are:
- Improving Employment Opportunities (one individual/community group, and one business)
- Improving Health and Wellbeing (one individual/community group, and one business)
- Helping People to Improve their Educational and Vocational Capability (one individual/community group, and one business)
- Making People Happier (one individual/community group, and one business)
- Making Physical Improvements to our Neighbourhoods (one individual/community group, and one business)
- Citizen of the Year (one individual)
Do you know an unsung community champion or a #BrilliantlyBoro hero?
If you know of any individual, community organisation, or business which has made a positive impact in Middlesbrough, please nominate them. We want to hear their stories and have a chance to give them the recognition they deserve.
Nominations open on Monday 27 January, so check below then for the nomination form.
