Can you get involved?

What's life like in Middlesbrough?

#communityconversation

MVDA is working with public services to engage local people in shaping the future of Middlesbrough. We would like your support to host a series of Community Conversations; creating space for Middlesbrough people to participate and ensure plans to improve the lives of people in our communities are co-produced with relevance, focused on meeting community need and lead to sustained regeneration.

A grant of up to £500 is available for voluntary organisations and community groups*, who can successfully engage their community to participate.

We want you to:

  • Listen to the insights of the people that live in Middlesbrough
  • Understand what is important to community members
  • Encourage community members to share their ideas and aspirations for Middlesbrough
  • Record and share the responses with us

You have the freedom to host conversations throughout March in whatever format you like, and we are happy to receive the results in whatever format they come. We'll just supply you with five open questions and free training and tools to get the conversations started.

What's the next step? If you are a voluntary or community organisation operating in Middlesbrough and are interested in hosting a Community Conversation we want to hear from you. Visit the Events section of our website and book on one of the training sessions (the earlier the better) or email hannah.roderick@mvdauk.org.uk to express your interest or find out more.

*Grants are only available to those organisations that are registered with MVDA. Only one grant can be awarded per organisation, but community conversations can be hosted multiple times (March-May) and the number of community members engaged totalled. Once the responses are shared with us, grants will be awarded on an incremental scale based on number of participants.
