Middlesbrough Council is looking for several Learning Advisors to join our successful Choosing Pathways team, delivering Tees Valley Pathways, a programme part funded by the European Social Fund and supported under the Youth Employment Initiative.
The posts will be based between the Middlesbrough Community Learning Service and the Stronger Families Service. Across the services we work with age ranges: 16-18; 18-24 and 25-29.
Anyone with experience of supporting people into Self Employment is strongly encouraged to apply.
The programme aims to support young people across the Tees Valley aged 15-29 that are unemployed and/or not in education, employment, or training.
Middlesbrough Council is one of the partner providers for the YEI programme. Our delivery programme called “Choosing Pathways” is individualised in terms of the young person’s needs, barriers, and aspirations. It offers a dedicated Learning Adviser service providing one to one support and aims to fast track participants into employment and training.
These posts will be key within our team providing individual support to unemployed young people engaged on the Youth Employment Initiative, including those experiencing significant barriers to employment.
The successful applicants will:
- Work directly with unemployed young people aged 15-29 to secure employment and training outcomes.
- Deliver effective Information, Advice and Guidance.
- Work with employers, training providers and other agencies to remove barriers and identify opportunities for participants.
- Promote the programme and the wider services of the Community Learning Service to potential participants and agencies across Middlesbrough and the Tees Valley.
We offer a fun and supportive working environment with a good team ethos. The Community Learning Service was inspected in February 2020 and was rated good.
This post offers a real opportunity to make a difference to young people’s lives.
The above post is subject to an enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check.
