Middlesbrough Environment City (MEC) is an independent charity that promotes healthy and sustainable lifestyles using the ten principles of One Planet Living. We have an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic and dynamic officer to deliver a unique project.
The Horticulture Officer will work on the Growing Active project, a pilot project working with community organisations and residents to share skills around horticulture and growing to support existing community greening and growing programmes.
This role will be responsible for the day-to-day delivery of the project including project planning and delivery, partnership development, monitoring of outcomes, coordination with the project partner organisations and evaluation.
With a sound understanding of horticulture and a passion to tackle the climate crisis, you will have previous experience of running community-based projects and have the ability to motivate, providing inspiration and leadership to others. You will require excellent communication and organisational skills and a have commitment to a community-led approach to addressing climate change locally.
