Shining a light on Teesside Ability Support Centre

I had a great conversation with Amanda Bolderson from the Teesside Ability Support Centre (TASC) last week. TASC provides a brilliant service for its members but I don't think it gets a lot of recognition, so I asked Amanda for some information to share - and here it is:

"Teesside Ability Support Centre (TASC) is a modern supportive day service for adults 19+ with various disabilities who need support to make the most of their lives. TASC is a front-line charity that operates from two sites in Middlesbrough at Acklam Road, Middlesbrough TS5 4EG, also at The Manor Hub, Coulby Newham TS8 0RJ.

"TASC has over 100 members who benefit and take part in a range of activities such as music, games, arts and crafts, themed events, trips out and sporting activities which are held across both sites Monday to Friday. TASC also provides personal care, a minibus transport service, a sensory room, physiotherapy and speech therapy sessions. The centre has a hydrotherapy pool to help our members to relax and enjoy their time with us.

"At TASC, we have qualified staff who support the members and focus on empowering our members to manage their own lives. TASC is a safe environment where members can socialise with others, make friends and learn new skills. Our members enjoy coming to TASC and going on outings, being part of and contributing to the local community."
