My whistlestop tour of Boro with Paul Streets

John Atkinson, Community Action Development Officer at MVDA took Paul Streets, the CEO of Lloyds Bank Foundation on a whistlestop tour of Middlesbrough in March.

Paul has been a driving force behind LocalMotion, a 10-year programme supporting System Change activities in 6 towns across England and Wales including Middlesbrough with the backing of 6 major funders. Paul was in Middlesbrough to get a sense of the town, its brilliant people and inventive Voluntary and Community Organisations.

If only I had the money!!

In times of austerity, we all feel the pressure whether this is within our own organisation, the people we serve or personally.  No matter how we feel this pressure, we are all aiming for the same goal – to improve our organisation, the lives of others, our family, friends and ourselves, however challenging this may be.

We know there are major funding issues facing many local authorities across the country which have had serious consequences for the voluntary and community sector, local people and their communities.
