We are here to support, promote and develop voluntary and community action in Middlesbrough

Neil Craig

I am married with two kids and two grandkids, and worked in steelworks for 41 years all over our region including South Bank, Leckenby, Redcar Skinningrove and Hartlepool, retiring from this in 2021.

I got involved with charity work before I retired with Teesside Samaritans, taking on plenty of roles there locally and regionally including working in local prisons. I am currently Teesside’s Outreach Officer as well as a listening volunteer on phones. I also do some work for SSAFA, the Armed Forces charity, mentoring forces personnel in their transition from military life into civilian life.

Community Activator Volunteer Co-ordinator

I am the Community Activator Volunteer Co-ordinator on a project focused in the wards of North Ormesby, Brambles Farm and Thorntree. My role is to get to know the local groups and organisations active in these wards to see if we can support these groups and communities, and then eventually help them to work together, support each other and create a collective voice for their communities. This project is funded by You’ve Got This.
