We are here to support, promote and develop voluntary and community action in Middlesbrough

Step Forward Tees Valley

MVDA is a partner of the multi-million pound Step Forward Tees Valley programme, led by the Northern Inclusion Consortium to help and support local people to overcome the complex reasons preventing them from finding work.  These barriers could include physical or mental ill-health, a lack of self-confidence, a gap in skills, a conviction, or an addiction.

MVDA is supporting local people into volunteering with the intention of gaining valuable experience that will assist them to find employment.  We are working with organisations, through our network of volunteer-involving organisations and others, to develop appropriate volunteering opportunities.

The project is helping people to build on their strengths and aspirations, using the skills and expertise of MVDA, other partners and local employers to achieve their goals. The project is committed to making a real and lasting change in Tees Valley.

Over three years, Step Forward Tees Valley will work with 2,500 people across Tees Valley by supporting them to take advantage of existing voluntary or employment possibilities. You can view an infographic to see who the participants have been in the project so far.

Visit the Step Forward Tees Valley website for further information. Step Forward Tees Valley is funded by The European Social Fund and The National Lottery Community Fund.
