Matrix Neurological, an innovative charity based in Middlesbrough, wishes to recruit a Family Support Worker to provide a range of support services to parents and carers of brain injured children living across the Tees Valley.
They will provide advocacy, emotional and learning support to families of children living with the effects of an acquired brain injury.
Working as part of a small team, the post holder will respond to referrals from parents, carers, GPs and other community professionals. You will discuss needs with parents and carers in order to support them to access appropriate services. This is a professional role so you will need excellent time management, planning and organisational skills.
Applicants must have demonstrable experience of working independently in health, social care or information, advice and guidance; in direct contact with service users; and have knowledge of existing service provision and access routes.
Full time salary £22,000 pro rata to 15 hours. The post is initially fixed term for up to 12 months.
