ACQUIRED BRAIN INJURY SUPPORT WORKER (Mental Health and Wellbeing)

The job role is to provide 1-1 emotional and development support to children and young people living with the effects of an acquired brain injury.  Working as part of a pioneering support team, you will provide stimulating fun activities that will prioritise poor mental wellbeing, low self esteem and self-belief and assist with the ongoing sensory, cognitive, communication, social, emotional and behavioural development of these highly vulnerable young people. 

ACQUIRED BRAIN INJURY SUPPORT WORKER & CLASSROOM SUPPORT WORKER

Matrix Neurological is a lived-experience led, pioneering charity that helps children and young people living with an acquired brain injury caused by an accident or illness.  We also provide practical, emotional and peer support to their families.

Due to additional funding, we are expanding our highly skilled team.  We are looking for 2 patient, supportive, resilient and dynamic individuals.  You must be passionate about helping children and young people to succeed and have good long term outcomes, by maximising their skills and personal development through the provision of innovative non-clinical interventions. 

Both roles provide Specialist Education Needs support to children and young people living with the effects of an acquired brain injury, helping facilitate improvements in their physical, sensory, cognitive, communication, social, emotional and behavioural function, and supporting their ongoing recovery journey.  1 post will work in both in the office and as outreach, and 1 is a more office-based role with some occasional outreach work.  You do not need experience of acquired brain injury in children and young people as training will be provided.

You will have experience of successfully working directly with and engaging disadvantaged children and young people with disabilities, including learning and behavioural difficulties.  You will possess excellent communication and administration skills and will be working both in community settings and in family homes.
