Job Context
Working in partnership with a number of local groups and organisations, PCP are delivering multiple research projects with the Mental Health and Learning Disability Partnership Board. This role will work to maximise opportunities for early intervention, prevention, and long-term recovery of mental health issues in relation to people with learning disabilities and those recovering from Covid.
The objective of this work is to support the VCSE’s response to community needs within a changing set of expectations and development of new systems for delivery of community support services, and to support it to become sustainable in the longer term.
Job Purpose
- To support the systematic development of community resilience and local befriending/peer support.
- To map current Befriending and Community Peer Support and LD & Autism provision, and research best practice for delivery.
- To analyse research and support the development and testing of delivery models that can be tested and evaluated.
- To engage and conduct research with clients from the County Durham Covid Resilience Team and effectively analysis the data and future support needs of this group.
Job Description
- To support the development of impactful surveys, evaluation and data collection methods and systems to support data analysis and report writing to support project delivery.
- Carry out a mapping exercise to identify current service providers and their delivery models/practices within County Durham
- To research best practice for delivery of Befriending and Community Peer Support, LD & Autism Services and review, compare and analyse current delivery within County Durham against best practice guidelines
- Facilitate consultation, engagement and co production with local health and social care commissioners and providers, service users and carers and other stakeholders as appropriate at local level to ascertain current and future needs for community based support.
- Analyse and report on data and support the development of a range of prototypes delivery models
- Support the roll out of prototype delivery models and administer their delivery
- Carry out an effect evaluation of the protype delivery models and their effectiveness based on best practice research and report on data.
- Manage and support volunteers working across the life course of mental health/emotional wellbeing issues in a co-ordinated and safe way, in line with best practice.
- To support community organisations to develop resources and capacity to provide supported volunteering experiences for vulnerable people with mental health difficulties (either pre-existing or COVID-related)
- To use a range of research methods to gather data/feedback in all research projects (Befriending/Peer Support, LD & Autism and COVID-19)
