Are you ready to join us?
People who have lived experience bring a wealth of experiential knowledge which underpins the role of a Peer Support Worker. The right person for the role will be able to use their own recovery experience to support others.
This role:
At Middlesbrough and Stockton Mind we value the important role that a Peer Support Worker would bring to the service and the community. Peer Support Workers are well positioned to support a range of people from diverse communities and areas, particularly those who are less likely or reluctant to seek mental health care due to stigma or discrimination. We (staff) value people's backgrounds and experiences.
We activiely encourage self-care and wellness for our staff and offer ongoing support, by providing a variety of different ways: protected time off for training, shadowing, supervision, employee assisted program and by linking with other staff, to share your learning with other Peer Support Workers so that your experience of the role is fulfilling, supported and knowledgable.
