Middlesbrough 1st is a user led charity which promotes Advocacy for adults with learning disabilities overseen by a Board of Trustees. Middlesbrough 1st Board are seeking to recruit a highly motivated Project Officer to deliver community-based projects which support and assist adults with learning disabilities.
The post will be funded through The National Lottery Community Fund for 3 years and may be extended dependent on funding sources available.
This post is an exciting opportunity for someone to join the enthusiastic Board of Middlesbrough 1st.
Key Tasks will include:
- Day to Day delivery of Middlesbrough 1st’s Charitable objectives
- Redeveloping and revitalising Middlesbrough 1st Advocacy Support Services for adults with learning disabilities and or autsim
- Ensuring true and meaningful co-production takes place so people with learning disabilities and or autism are involved at all levels of the service
- Responsible for robust budget management
- Engagement with all key stakeholders including Statutory Agencies and other key Learning Disability Peer Led Support Groups
- Keeping up to date with legislative changes that have an affect on the lives of people with learning disabilities and or autism
- Providing regular updates to the Middlesbrough 1st Board
Applicants will have and can evidence:
- Experience of working in the community delivering services
- Experience of delivering Advocacy services and support, along with having a current Advocacy qualification (or are working towards)
- Experience of working with people with learning disabilities, learning difficulties and or autism
- Experience of financial management
- Experience of working with volunteers
- Experience of preparing and submitting funding applications
