Project Officer

Middlesbrough 1st would like to thank National Lottery Players who have made this post possible through a grant from The National Lottery Community Fund.  

Middlesbrough 1st is a user led charity which promotes Advocacy for adults with learning disabilities overseen by a Board of Trustees.  Middlesbrough 1st Board are seeking to recruit a highly motivated Project Officer to deliver community-based projects which support and assist adults with learning disabilities.

The post will be funded through The National Lottery Community Fund for 3 years and may be extended dependent on funding sources available.

This post is an exciting opportunity for someone to join the enthusiastic Board of Middlesbrough 1st.

Key Tasks will include:

  • Day to Day delivery of Middlesbrough 1st’s Charitable objectives
  • Redeveloping and revitalising Middlesbrough 1st Advocacy Support Services for adults with learning disabilities and or autsim
  • Ensuring true and meaningful co-production takes place so people with learning disabilities and or autism are involved at all levels of the service
  • Responsible for robust budget management
  • Engagement with all key stakeholders including Statutory Agencies and other key Learning Disability Peer Led Support Groups
  • Keeping up to date with legislative changes that have an affect on the lives of people with learning disabilities and or autism
  • Providing regular updates to the Middlesbrough 1st Board

Applicants will have and can evidence:

  • Experience of working in the community delivering services
  • Experience of delivering Advocacy services and support, along with having a current Advocacy qualification (or are working towards)
  • Experience of working with people with learning disabilities, learning difficulties and or autism
  • Experience of financial management
  • Experience of working with volunteers
  • Experience of preparing and submitting funding applications
