The role of Development Executive will play a leading role in developing and growing Dynamic Community Fusion, a new and ambitious Community Interest Company. This will be achieved by organically growing the range of support services we provide for individuals with brain injuries, and also through developing new and innovative solutions to wider social challenges particularly around homelessness, healthy living and employability.
The Development Executive will use a variety of techniques and resourcing to deliver development, growth and diversification for Dynamic Community Fusion. We are really proud of the services we deliver and are committed to growing our impact by delivering similar services to more individuals and communities across Scotland and England. We also have ambitious plans to develop new, disruptive solutions to areas of unmet need including homelessness and wider deprivation related challenges, a key element of this role is to help develop solutions which are deliverable and fundable and which help us realise our ambitions in this area.
The post holder will be responsible for working closely with individual local government partners and other service and programme commissioners to establish a pipeline of growth opportunities, allowing Dynamic Community Fusion to positively impact on the lives of more individuals and communities. This will also involve gaining an understanding of how need is currently met and where there are opportunities to innovate and improve outcomes.
Reporting to the Head of Business Development the post holder will orchestrate strategic resource sharing, actively research and contribute to tenders and bids and support cross organisational teamwork to achieve overarching business objectives whilst developing or advancing new business based on emergent markets within the business area.

Business development
- Develop an in-depth understanding the current delivery landscape and market across the key sectors of interest for Dynamic Community Fusion, in order to provide insight into development and competitive positioning
- Lead and contribute to development plans that will help Dynamic Community Fusion develop and expand its reach for current and related service delivery areas into new communities across Scotland and England.
- Collaborate with key internal and external stakeholders to develop new disruptive solutions around homelessness, healthy living and employability which are deliverable and fundable, and to bring these solutions to fruition by helping to secure funding packages.
- Supervise leads and opportunities to retain and secure contracts and services including providing supportive reasoning in bid and no bid decisions where appropriate.
- Gather information and providing high quality support to the Head of Business Development in order to deliver the overarching aims and values.
- Analysing market value and data to determine opportunities for development
- Support in the development of diverse and sustainable service and income streams across the key sectors of interest for DCF.
Partnership and Stakeholder engagement
- Participating in strategic projects as required by Dynamic Community Fusion and the executive board.
- Develop and sustain positive and effective relationships with company stakeholders and with current and new public and third sector partners.
- Collaborating with company executives to determine the most viable, cost-effective approach to pursue new business opportunities.
- Proactively engage with potential funders and partners to develop expert insight on areas of mutual interest and also opportunities to collaborate.
- Understand funding streams, commissioning and contract negotiation
- Liaise with and develop professional relationships with a range of external agencies and represent Dynamic Community Fusion at external forums to promote the Community Interest Company and its services
Preparing and supporting tendering opportunities
- A flair for writing clearly, concisely and accurately
- Identifying the range of evidence requirements that produce compelling content for tenders and proposals which offer compelling stories around our ambitions and aims.
- Produce and analyse market information supportive of proposal requirements
- Apply creative thinking, challenging the current and introduce new ideas, methods and processes that provide innovation within the current market
