Specialist SEN Support Worker (2 posts) – (Initially 18 months fixed term contract as the role is funding dependent)

Matrix Neurological is an innovative charity based in Middlesbrough that exists to help remove inequalities for children and young people living with an acquired brain injury. We also provide practical and emotional peer support to their families.
Due to gaining some additional funding to expand our innovative team, we are looking for 4 dynamic and highly motivated individuals. You must be passionate about helping children and young people to recover following a brain injury, by maximising their skills and personal development through provision of non-clinical interventions. 2 posts will work as outreach and 2 are office-based support roles.
You will have experience of person-centred support, be compassionate and understanding; possess excellent communication and administration skills and be experienced in working with disadvantaged children and young people with behavioural difficulties.
You do not need experience of acquired brain injury in children and young people as training will be provided; however it would be an advantage.
Working as part of a pioneering support team, you will provide stimulating fun activities that will assist with the ongoing sensory, cognitive, communication, social, emotional and behavioural development of these young people. Both roles are to provide Specialist Education Needs Support to children and young people living with the effects of an acquired brain injury, to help facilitate improvements in their cognitive, communication, social, emotional and behavioural development and support their ongoing recovery journey. You will need experience of successfully engaging and working directly with children and young people with disabilities and will be working both in community settings and in family homes.
All these posts are subject to either an Enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (EDBS) check or a Disclosure and Barring Service check (DBS) and will commence in January 2021.
