Middlesbrough Hoarding Intervention Service
This new service in Middlesbrough will offer tenants a range of recovery related interventions and advice and guidance for individuals with varying degrees of hoarding disorder who are seeking support to resolve this and who may be at risk of eviction.
As a Recovery Worker you should be able to inspire and engage people, you must have the ability to identify barriers and understand client’s needs, while possessing excellent motivational skills to coach clients to achieve their recovery goals. You will work with clients by providing practical support with their hoarding disorders, utilising appropriate toolkits. This role will include an element of housing management, one to one engagement in coaching activities that are tenancy related and facilitating group based activities, sign posting and engaging people into mainstream provision.
We are looking for someone with NVQ3 in Health and Social Care and ideally experience working with individuals with hoarding disorder. Previous experience in a social care setting working with people who have a range of complex needs including Mental Health and Drug and Alcohol are essential. As well as experience of recovery planning and goal setting. Experience of working within a supported housing or community setting as well as facilitating group based activities would be advantageous.
