We are here to support, promote and develop voluntary and community action in Middlesbrough

Volunteers Week 2021

Volunteers’ Week is a time to say thanks for the contribution millions of people make across the UK through volunteering, held on the first week of June.

#ThanksABunch - our online thank you campaign

We're teaming up with Community Ventures Ltd to say #ThanksABunch to all the amazing volunteers in Boro!

The idea is for people in the community to create/draw flowers and stick them on your window, then take a photograph and share it with the hashtags #ThanksaBunch and #ThankYouBoroVolunteers.  Anybody can get involved in this, and the more the merrier!

Watch this video below to find out more.

You can download the flower templates below to colour in and display in your windows by clicking on the image, or you can design your own as Ruth has in the video above!

What's on in Middlesbrough during the week

Tuesday 1st June - Volunteer Thank you Wellbeing session, at CVL Thorntree

Do you know a volunteer that has worked hard during the pandemic? Would you like to give them a treat to say #ThanksaBunch? Why not nominate them and tell us why they deserve to be spoilt? There are some pamper packs for lucky volunteers as well! Download our flyer

To nominate them, contact us on Facebook or email us at suganya@mvdauk.org.uk

Get your entries to us by the 24th of May. The lucky volunteers will be invited to Community Ventures on Tuesday to make and take home their own bath treats and learn the techniques to give and receive a hand massage with aromatherapy oils.

Wednesday 2nd June - Community walk and litter pick – 10:30-12noon

This is an opportunity for you to have a go at being a volunteer! Come along on your own or bring along your volunteers to join our team of very friendly Boro Active Explorer and CVL volunteers for a walk & litter pick. We will be starting from CVL, Thorntree at 10:30am.

Wednesday 2nd June - Volunteers Cuppa and Catchup – 12 -2pm at CVL Thorntree

All the hard work in litter picking will be followed by some coffee and informal chat with volunteers and a space to connect. You don’t have to come to the litter pick to come along to this.. come along if you and your volunteers want to have a friendly chat.
