Help us respond to the South Tees Wellbeing Network Proposal

(This article has been posted on behalf of colleagues at Public Health South Tees)

  1. Do you work/volunteer or does your organisation/project/voluntary group/club operate in the South Tees area (Middlesbrough, Redcar and Cleveland)?
  1. Does your work involve in some way helping people improve their wellbeing? This could be support for employment, social care, health care, exercise activities, financial issues, housing, education, mental health, mental wellbeing, physical rehabilitation, employee wellbeing, advocacy, mentoring, coaching etc.?
  1.  Even if you didn’t say yes to either questions above, do you have people in your network who would answer yes? If so, can we suggest you forward this on and accept our thanks J

If you did answer yes to question 1 and 2, please read on below before giving yourself at least 3 -5 minutes to read the downloadable proposal document.

We hope you find that the content in this South Tees Wellbeing Network proposal brings together many wellbeing sector conversations we and sector partners have so far been party to, some with content unique to our geographical area. It’s been an idea and project thought for some time, and is led by beliefs in potential need, conversationally sourced as much as data led. As a result, you may immediately recognise a lot of what it says in terms of common feelings on wellbeing issues today, in the very broad but local industry we work within.

The wellbeing network proposal may resonate with you partly, in full or not at all. Either way, if you work with people to improve their wellbeing or your company does, we want to hear from you.

There are many stories to be told and are ongoing around wellbeing improvement that would inform this consultation. The proposals are just proposals at this stage and this consultation is not just a response to recent events, but very much viewed as a medium/long term solution to needing a better connected wellbeing sector in our area. We honestly believe collectively planned wellbeing work is the best tool to enable each individual, regardless of their strengths/limitations the means to move forward with their lives, because we have evidence and examples from around the world and at home to draw on and even perhaps improve on.

We also love Redcar and Boro and want the network to be a disruption to some systems (that which may impede some important and influential factors for wellbeing) as much as helping continue the areas ability to recover, in these odd times. And in innovation, in creating a space where connected wellbeing innovation can flourish, is where we think the network will be most effective.
