We are here to support, promote and develop voluntary and community action in Middlesbrough

Middlesbrough Voices and Workshops - get involved

LocalMotion and partners have organised two initiatives to give people a platform to talk about the challenges and successes of everyday life in Middlesbrough. They are holding creative My Town workshops and Monthly Meetups, see below for full details.

My Town workshops

Do You Live in Middlesbrough? Would you like to share your story and help transform the town?

We are creating a Manifesto for Middlesbrough! Through spoken and written word, we are exploring the realities of life in the town and gathering stories of strength and resilience.

Join us for a free taster session or sign up for a series of 8 workshops designed to give people a platform to talk about the challenges and successes of everyday life in Middlesbrough.

What to Expect

Your Story Matters: These workshops offer a space to share your personal experiences, the highs, the challenges, and everything in between.
Creative Expression: You’ll have the chance to express in your own unique way what it truly means to live in this town, expressing the community's struggles and hopes.
Inspiring Change: Your words can reach local decision-makers, helping to shape a better future for Middlesbrough based on real stories and ideas.
No experience is needed—just your voice, your story, and your desire to participate in the conversation.

My Town workshops are organised by LocalMotion Middlesbrough in partnership with Borderlands, Tees Women Poets and MIMA.
