We are here to support, promote and develop voluntary and community action in Middlesbrough

Latest free food list

Click here to download the latest free food list, compiled by Jill Fidan from Change Grow Live. Updated this month, it outlines 7-day food provision across Middlesbrough for those who need it.

Neighbourhood Welfare Kitchen

One of the places on the list is the volunteer-ran Homeless Hub by Neighbourhood Welfare who recently received thousands of pounds worth of National Lottery funding to help them continue to provide support for the homeless. Susan Gill and her team offer people a lifeline, providing a café and facilities such as showers and a volunteer barber for beneficiaries to take care of their hygiene needs.

The kitchen is there to help people who have issues with homelessness and those that are having issues with their benefits and have no income. People who are supported by agencies such as Breaking Boundaries, Rivers House, Probation, CGL or the Job Centre can ask for a letter or referral slip (explaining their circumstances) to use the facilities.
