After being on a six month tour of UK towns and cities, a huge anti-knife crime sculpture made of surrendered weapons has arrived in Middlesbrough for a month-long stay.
"Knife Angel" is a 27-foot tall sculpture made from over 100,000 discarded knives and confiscated weapons from police forces across the country. In a bid to raise awareness about knife crime, a range of educational and prevention work will accompany the Angel’s stay, including talks to young people. To find out more about these talks please visit Police and Crime Commissioner website.
The sculpture can be seen in Centre Square where it will stand until Monday 2 September 2019.
