Council want views to create new 'place brand' for Middlesbrough

Message from Tony Parkinson, Interim Chief Executive of Middlesbrough Council:

"As you will already know, Middlesbrough is entering a phase of real opportunity for all. Over £700m of investment is already planned in new housing, learning, leisure and business facilities and we don’t want to stop there.

With this in mind, internationally renowned multi-disciplinary designers HemingwayDesign have been appointed to work with Middlesbrough Council and our partners on harnessing the exciting developments that are being planned for Middlesbrough over the next few years to create a new place brand for the town.

A place brand will work to provide Middlesbrough with a completely new and community-led identity to support our overall promotion locally, nationally and internationally.

The next phase in this process leads us to engage with those that live, learn, work, enjoy and do business in Middlesbrough and ask them to share their views, perceptions and passion for the town, helping us to mould an honest and locally led vision.

To enable this to happen HemingwayDesign have a dedicated website to collect views online alongside a programme of workshops (details to follow).

Share your views online: http://middlesbrough.hemdesengagement.co.uk

Please take the opportunity in sharing both your memories and vision for the future of our town to have a real influence on the development of our place brand. I would be very grateful if you could also cascade this to your contacts."
