The Joint Strategic Needs Assessment (JSNA) is a systematic way of assessing the health and social needs of the local population. It identifies ‘the big picture’, in terms of the health and wellbeing needs and inequalities of a local population. The 2018 Children and Young People's JSNA has now been published following it's approval last month.

Hitting doorsteps, desks and inboxes this morning is our reflection of the community conversations that were hosted over the summer period by 42 community organisations. 1,765 local people shared their view about what life is like in Middlesbrough – for them, their families and others. MVDA facilitated the process of hosting community conversations working in partnership with local public services and others.

Today sees the launch of the Civil Society Futures report - the result of a two year inquiry into the future of Civil Society and what the sector needs to do to change and adapt to economic and social changes over the next decade and beyond.
It calls on individuals, charities and organisations in civil society to commit to a new ‘PACT’:
